World Ethanol & Biofuels Conference 2015

This year’s global gathering of ethanol and biofuels experts takes place in historic ‘twin city’ Budapest. A day-long Advanced Biofuels Feedstock Workshop will be followed by a conference with a broad-ranging agenda and an impressive international speaker line-up.
In the US, ARS technicians Christine Odt (left) and Kim Darling test potential materials for use as feedstocks for biofuels production.

A comprehensive conference agenda includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, roundtables, workshops, forums and presentations (along with ample opportunity to network between sessions and after hours) on an array of crucial topics, notably:
- policy outlook, from ‘chop and change’ to a long-term view – covering policy and politics around the world and bringing together policymakers and national government representatives;
- new production, investments and trade openings – looking at policy implementation, investment appetite and trade flows globally;
- 2G project development: challenges, opportunities and winning strategies – understanding the elements of a bankable 2G project and the available options (co-location vs. retrofit vs. greenfield);
- production optimisation and product diversification – examining the options available for maximising profitability and investing in new end products;
- distillers, grains and other co-products – looking at co-products from ethanol manufacturing that are critical components in profitability, such as processing, storage, quality, marketing, distribution, and utilisation as animal feeds; and
- financing biofuels and bioenergy: the tough questions – examining key drivers of investment and lending.
